Hidden Assets

In all divorce proceedings, both parties have an obligation to fully and accurately disclose their assets, income, and liabilities to the other party and to the court. Failure to do so is not only perjury but may result in sanctions against the non-disclosing party.

However, all too common, when a couple is facing the prospect of divorce, one party will attempt to divert and hid assets from the other party, for instance acquiring property abroad, establishing hidden bank accounts or transferring funds to a third-party. In such circumstances it is often necessary to hire a forensic accountant in order to determine how many assets have been diverted from the marital estate.
